Hello everyone! My name is Kelsey Siddell and I am a senior at the University of Northern Iowa. I love Graphic Design, however, my major at UNI is Graphic Technology, minoring in Marketing. This means that I learn about tons of interesting things. I have learned traditional printing, publishing, packaging, digital imaging, website development, digital photography, computer graphics, etc., in my graphic technology classes. I also take graphic design classes to better educate myself on more specific aspects of design. As far as the Marketing minor goes, I have gotten to learn about introductions to marketing, financial accounting, organizational management, and am currently learning about digital advertising.
Design fits my lifestyle because I love change. I love learning new things and creating something out of nothing. The constantly changing technology keeps me on my toes, always learning and exploring new things. Graphic technology works with my personality because not only do I like to design things on the computer but it is more satisfying to me to have what I created physically in my hands. I have fun doing the production of the design process step by step until it is finally the piece that it is supposed to be. This means that I know how to design/produce my own products and market them too.
This blog is going to be the mesh between graphic design, the print industry, and marketing.
